MARRIAGE LICENSE INFORMATION
Marriage Licenses are easy to obtain in
Tennessee. Simply appear in person at any County Clerk's office, or one of the
Marriage License Centers in Sevier County. Both parties must be present in
person. Proof of age is required by a valid driver's license or, another
state-issued I.D., a valid passport, or certified birth certificate. You do not have to be
a resident of Sevier County to get married here.
Couples may also bring a marriage license from any county in the state
of Tennessee. Remember, licenses are only valid within thirty days from
issuance. If applicants are under age 18, both parents or legal guardians must sign
the marriage certificate.
No appointment is required at the Sevier County License Centers.
Cost is $45.00 for out-of-state residents, which must be presented only in
cash in the exact amount. Beginning November 1, 2005 the County Clerk will
also be accepting MASTERCARD AND VISA.

YOU CAN NOW RESERVE YOUR TENNESSEE MARRIAGE LICENSE ONLINE ON OUR COUNTY'S
WEBSITE. YOU WILL RECEIVE A RESERVATION NUMBER AND THEN, UPON ARRIVAL
AT OUR COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE BOTH BRIDE AND GROOM WILL SHOW PROPER
IDENTIFICATION AND THEIR LICENSE WILL BE PRINTED OUT FOR THEM. THIS
PRE-RESERVATION SERVICE CAN GREATLY SPEED UP THE PROCESS IN OBTAINING YOUR
MARRIAGE LICENSE.
